Description

Clinical history : A 49-year-old male with chest pain and cough did not respond to antibiotic therapy. He worked with rejected animal carcasses at the abattoir. At admission to the hospital cardiac failure with tachycardia was present and initially the patient responded to treatment (including antituberculous therapy).
Autopsy findings : 1. Tuberculous pericarditis.
2. Bilateral apical pulmonary tuberculosis.
3. Miliary tuberculosis in lungs, liver, spleen, kidneys and bone marrow.
4. Tuberculous lymphadenitis.
6. Bilateral pulmonary embolism.
Diagnosis: 1. Apical pulmonary and military tuberculosis in lung with pulmonary embolism.
2. Tuberculous pericarditis
