Abstract

Joinery details of Rhone, a Cape Dutch homestead in the Groot Drakenstein valley near Cape Town. Drawn by John Fassler from measured drawings by C.J. Slade for prof. Geoffrey Pearse's book "Eighteenth Century Architecture in South Africa" – see page 47 for a description, and Plate 90 for the drawing. The drawing depicts the internal screen, doors and sections of door frames, windows, hinges, shutters, skirtings, etc.
