The transport system is an infrastructure that is critical to society. This is clearly demonstrated when the system is exposed to a sudden disruption or shock. Less damage to the system must be ensured in any sudden disturbance. Quick recovery of the system is important to avoid long-term effects. This essay focuses on finding sustainable strategies that enhance resilience in the planning and building of transport systems.
