Description
Clinical history : An eight year old male child with history of vomiting, diarrhoea and abdominal pain for several days.
At admission, he was acutely ill with peri-orbital oedema, low blood pressure and rapid pulse rate. Clinical diagnosis of glomerulonephritis was made.
Autopsy findings : 1. Dilated cardiomyopathy.
2. Systemic embolisation with renal infarct.
3. Mesenterial artery thrombosis.
4. General chronic venous congestion.
Diagnosis: Dilated cardiomyopathy with mural thrombosis
