Competing in the computer hardware industry can be a challenge under the best of circumstances, seeing how today’s futuristic technology, will be tomorrows junk. Competing in the industry forces companies to ensure that every aspect of their business functions smoothly. Realizing this, ECO Technology expanded their Headquarters and requested aid in the re-layout and design of these facilities. In order to do this the systematic layout planning process was followed Alternate layout analysis is an integral part of this process. The different layouts were evaluated on a number of bases, to ensure that the best of the alternatives were chosen to be implemented. The main evaluation criteria were: Customer flow, stock flow, space requirements and economic implications. The focus of the process modelling and simulation was on the customer flow and stock flow criteria, setting up a simulation of each for the alternatives. Finally an implementable facilities plan along with a rough implementation schedule to be followed is presented in the report.en_US
