Description

Clinical history : A 57 year old male with xanthoma of the skin of the oral cavity.
There was also suspicion of laringeal xanthoma and the patient also showed signs of Parkinsons with cerebellar injury.
Autopsy findings : 1. Multiple xanthoma of the skin, oral cavity, larynx, trachea and bronchi.
2. Bilateral gliosis of the globus pallidus with atrophy of the left cerebellar half.
Diagnosis: Xanthoma disseminatum with bilateral gliosis of the globus pallidus and cerebellar atrophy
