Description
Clinical history : The baby of a 17-year-old female patient developed irregular heartbeat during the second stage of labour and meconium staining of the amniotic fluid was noted.
At birth the umbilical cord was tightly round the baby's neck and it became progressively more cyanotic; the baby died 10 hours later.
Autopsy findings : 1. Both lungs severely congested and solidly consolidated.
2. Fatty change in the liver.
Diagnosis: Haemorrhagic intra-uterine pneumonia
