Description
Clinical history : A 60 year old male with aplastic anemia for 12 years.
During this period, the patient had recived as many as 600 units of blood and was diagnosed with heoatitis B viral infection and developed patient tranfusion siderosis due to multiple blood transfusions.
Autopsy findings : 1. Aplatic anemia.
2. Transfusion siderosis.
3. Iron surplus in the pancreas, thyroid glang, adrenal gland and mediastinal and para-aortic lymph nodes.
Diagnosis: Transfusion siderosis in the pancreas with micronodular cirrhosis
