Description
Clinical history : A 52-year-old male patient had progressive anaemia and complained of right-sided headache.
X-ray examination showed metastatic tumour in the parietal region of the brain and widespread left-sided lung opacities.
Autopsy findings : Squamous cell carcinoma in the main bronchus of the upper lobe of the left lung, obstructive bronchiectasis and multiple lung abscesses.
Partial infiltration of the lower lobe bronchus was also present.
Tumour metastases were found in the brain (infiltrating into the skull) and kidneys.
Diagnosis: Squamous cell carcinoma in the main bronchus of the upper lobe of the left lung, obstructive bronchiectasis and bronchopneumonia
