Abstract
Description
Clinical history : A male, 49-years old, had myocardial infarct in October 1962 and later developed heart failure, which responded to treatment.
In May 1963 heart failure recurred and dyspnoea developed.
The possibility of cardiac aneurysms was considered but not confirmed radiologically.
In, June 1963, after routine medical examination, the patient collapsed and died within minutes.
Autopsy findings : 1. Old myocardial infarct with beginning aneurysm formation.
2. Atherosclerosis and thrombotic occlusion of descending branch of left coronary artery.
3. Grade II - IV atherosclerosis of aorta.
Diagnosis: Myocardial infarction with early aneurysm formation.
