Progress with the implementation of COTO DS 2020 in South Africa

Abstract

The Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Works for South African Road Authorities - Draft Standard (DS) 2020 (COTO DS 2020) is being implemented by various road authorities in South Africa. This new national draft standard is being implemented at all stages of road and bridge works projects - from project assessment to construction. In some instances, it is also being contemplated for maintenance operations. The Draft Standard phase of the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Works for South African Road Authorities allows for feedback stemming from the use of same. Thus, the use of the document in practice is yielding feedback. The presentation will explore some aspects of the feedback and user experiences.
