Description

Coetzee painted Anubis, the Egyptian god of the afterlife, which is considered to be an example of one of his Hermetic works which is characterised by the use of mythological creatures, figures and symbols. As an avid reader and lover of books, Coetzee found inspiration in his books of his vast library for many of these creations.
