dc.descriptionClinical history : A 34 year old female showing clinical signs of congenital heart disease.
dc.descriptionA large interventricular septal defect with hypertrophy and dilation of the right ventricle and both the aortic and pulmonary arteries.
dc.descriptionThe pulmonary arteries are hypoplastic with changes being more pronounced on the left side.
dc.descriptionAutopsy findings : 1. Total situs invertus of all the organs except the heart.
dc.description2. Thrombus of the atria media of the left side with cerebral infraction.
dc.description3. Pseudomucinous cyst adenoma of the ovary.
dc.description4. Atelectasis of the inferior lobe of the left lung with left pleural effusion.
dc.descriptionThe heart weighed 572g with hypoplasia of the left ventricle and a small left atrial tab which formed a small opening lateral and anterior to the mitral valve.
dc.descriptionThere was an atrium and the mitral valve which was covered with a cribriform endocardial plate .
