| dc.description.abstract | A hemagglutinating virus isolated during routine surveillance in ostriches was sequenced, identified as avian orthoavulavirus 1 (AOaV-1), and classified as a class I genotype 1.2 virus, with recent common ancestors in Eurasian wild ducks. This is the first class I AOaV-1 isolate from Africa and the first identified in ostriches. | en_ZA |
