Description

Clinical history : A 47-year old man with urinary complaints had biopsy diagnosis of chronic prostatitis.
A year later biopsy diagnosis of prostatic adenocarcinoma with bone, liver and local metastasis was made.
Chemotherapy was given, but in June 1982 low back pain and metastases in the skull developed.
The patient died in August 1982.
Autopsy findings : 1. Adenocarcinoma of prostate gland.
2. Lymphangitis carcinomatosis in lungs.| 3. Widespread bone metastases.
4. Metastatic carcinoma in mediastinal lymph nodes, pituitary gland, adrenal and dura mater.
5. Asbestosis in lungs and diaphragm.
Diagnosis: Metastatic prostate carcinoma in vertebrae.
