Voortrekker mausoleum decision
Abstract
The Historical Monuments Commission today decided on the form of the monument which is to be erected to the memory of the Voortrekkers. Mr. Gerard Moerdyk [Gerard Moerdijk] of Pretoria was appointed architect of the memorial. The article mistakenly reports that it will resemble a Greek mausoleum.
Description
The Historic Monuments Commission made an official statement in April 1936 to expressly prevent incorrect reporting - as in this article - concerning the style of the monument.
