| dc.description.abstract | This integrative review investigates how business process design, service design, and interior spatial design tools can improve user experience, spatial qualities, and programmatic requirements in the pre-design phase of architecture. Better spatial design can be achieved by understanding the relationship between people, place, and programme. The integrative literature review identified existing tools in these interdisciplinary fields to enhance user experiences during the pre-design phase. Of 206 articles, 60 were analysed, highlighting ten tools best suited to this purpose. User experience in architecture often suffers due to the neglect of people, place, and programme. This review shows how these tools can be combined, adapted, and developed into a pre-design framework to define user experience, spatial qualities, and programmatic requirements and improve overall architectural outcomes. | en_US |
