Abstract

Plan, elevation, section and details of the main entrance doorway of Rust-en-Vreugde in Cape Town. Measured by V.S. Rees Poole and drawn by John Fassler for prof. Geoffrey Pearse's book "Eighteenth Century Architecture in South Africa" – see page 41 for a description and Plate 34 for the drawing. The doors, topped by an elaborate fanlight, are framed by panelled teak pilasters with an entablature above.
