Abstract

This case study describes certain changes that occurred in a patient’s self-image following Mann’s (1973) Time-Limited Psychotherapy. The patient, used in this study, was tested before and after psychotherapy using the Rorschach Inkblot Method. These protocols were then used and contrasted according to Exner’s Comprehensive System. As a prescribed starting point for Time Limited Psychotherapy, the patient’s negative self-image was identified as the Central Issue or theme. This was confirmed by the first protocol of the Rorschach Inkblot Method. The descriptions of the patient’s Self-perception, Interpersonal perception and Affective features, given by the Rorschach Inkblot Method, were used to study the potential changes in the patient’s self-image after psychotherapy. The study indicates that certain changes in self-image did take place after psychotherapy.
