The development of the construction industry in South-Africa is to a large extent influenced by the South African government. The South African government is one of the biggest role players in this ever growing industry. The objective of this treatise is to identify whether the government has a positive or a negative influence in the South African construction industry. Issues on Public Private Partnerships, growth by job creation and economic welfare, communication systems within the government and the status of performance and development within the construction industry, are investigated.en_US
