Abstract

Description

Clinical history : A 4 month old female with a history of coughing and was underweight.
After investigation, a rough systolic murmur was found over the pericardium with a diastolic murmur over the left side of the sternum.
A radiograph showed growth of the heart with increased vasculature of the lungs.
Autopsy findings : 1. Truncus arteriosus.
2. Ventricular septal defect.
3. Pulmonary edema.
Diagnosis: Truncus arteriosus with ventricular septal defect
