Description

Clinical history : A male white child 8 years old with history of fatigue, listlessness, weight loss and sudden severe backache.
Clinical diagnosis of ventriculo-septal coagulase positive staphylococcus was isolated from blood culture and bacterial endocarditis suspected.
The patient developed terminal massive haematemesis and haemoptysis.
Autopsy findings : 1. Coarctation of aorta with mycotic aneurysm rupturing into the oesophagus and upper ยท lobe of right lung.
2.. Bicuspid aorta valve.
3. Left ventricular hypertrophy.
4. Abnormal wide sinus oesophagus.
Diagnosis: Coarctation of the aorta with a mycotic aneurysm distally and with a rupture to the oesophagus
