dc.descriptionClinical history : A 50 year old male with a melanoma of the nasopharynx and later recurred in the nasopharynx and presented with blindness in the right eye.
dc.descriptionthe patient developed pyogenic meningitis which was treated and only later developed blindness in the left eye prior to death.
dc.descriptionAutopsy findings : 1. Malignant melanoma of the nasopharynx with infiltration to the cranium and orbit.
dc.description2. Infiltration of the base of the brain with perforation to the tumor and an abcess in the last part of the left fronto-parietal lobe.
dc.descriptionThe abcess had broken into the lateral ventricle with acute ependymitis and acute meningitis but the exudate had clogged the foramen of Monroe.
dc.descriptionDiagnosis: Distribution of a melanoma of the nasopharynx to the base of the brain with cerebral abscess and infiltration in the ventricular cavities
