Abstract
In his biography on Chesterton, the poet and journalist, William Richard Titterton (1876-1963) noted of his friend that he was always busy writing, and if he was writing, then he was drawing. He would write on any piece of paper he could find, and sometimes even wrote or drew on surfaces not ordinarily reserved for that purpose. Writing was not only his livelihood but, in a manner of speaking, his life. His sheer output as a writer is a testament to this. And, of course, Chesterton was not just a writer but an editor too. As the truism goes, writing is editing.
