Description
Clinical history : A 10 year old patient with a history of cyanosis and a diagnosis of the Tretology of Fallot was made and an operation to repair the ventricular septal defect was done with a prosthesis placed in the right ventricle.
The proximal part of the superior pulmonary artery was very small and was joined to an anterior percardial covering.
The pateint experienced heart failure during the operation.
Autopsy findings : . Ventricular septal defect with pul onary artery hyperplasia.
2. Old bacterial endocarditis of the left pulmonary artery.
3. Old bacterial endocarditis of the tricuspid valve.
Diagnosis: Ventricular septal defect with pulmonary arterial hypoplasia
