Abstract

Description

This light grey three-legged Li-shaped bowl, tapering to the three tripod legs and averted wide rim, is made from kaolin earth and its body is decorated with vertical string impressions. The shape shows a prototype of many later bronze vessels. It is possible that this form derived from the custom of leaning three pointed type vessels together over a fire.
