Abstract

Description

Clinical history : A 4 year old male with swelling in the face and legs for 4 weeks.
Investigation shows the child had chronic disease with pronounced edema and a blood pressure of 110/60 and signs of heart failure.
the heart was enlarged and there was a systolic murmur over the apex.
Autopsy findings : 1. coarctation of the aorta.
2. Bicuspidal aortic valve.
3. Left ventricular hypertrophy.
Diagnosis: Coarctation of the aorta and bicuspid aortic valve
