Abstract
Description
Clinical history : A 15 year old who was cyanotic with tiredness and virtigo.
Investigation shows a blood pressure of 140/80 mmHg with a continuous murmur over the base of the heart due to a hypoplastic left pulmonary artery.
Autopsy findings : 1. Peripheral pulmonary arterial stenosis (congenital).
2. Hypoplastic left pulmonary artery.
3. atherosclerosis of the pulmonary artery.
4. Hypertrophy of the right ventricle and pulmonary hypertension.
Diagnosis: 1. Hypoplastic left pulmonary artery.
2. Atherosclerosis of the pulmonary artery.
3. Severe right ventricular hypertrophy of the right ventricle and pulmonary hypertension
