Description

Clinical history : A male patient, nineteen years old, treated in 1962 for typhoid fever.
In March 1963 he developed heart failure.
Autopsy findings : Cardiomegaly with hypertrophy and dilatation of all four chambers.
Endocardial thrombosis in the left ventricle.
Infarcts in lungs, spleen and kidneys.
Chronic venous congestion.
Diagnosis: Idiopathic cardiomegaly with mural thrombosis and pulmonary and systemic infarcts
