The controversy about the existence of the world is the point of departure of this article. That there is a world and that this world exists and that many meanings are allocated to this term are all equally true. Their conception of the world is the way human beings give expression to what they consider to be constituting a meaningful and hence liveable situation for them. The impact of technical developments forces humans to rethink and rearticulate their conception of the world or world views and especially their place and position in it. It is never pursued without controversy. The new world view has to take on new dimensions in terms of time and space and these new dimensions call for new and different ways of thinking about the world. World views are dynamic conceptions that call for continuous inventions and reinventions in order to create new spaces where humans can feel themselves at home in terms of their own understanding.en
