Description
Clinical history : A twelve year old boy with history of headache, irritability, weight and appetite loss.
Examination showed neck stiffness and positive Kernig sign and meningitis was diagnosed Laboratory tests of the cerebrospinal fluid showed the pressure of Diplococcus pneumoniae.
Autopsy findings : 1. Acute pneumococcal meningitis.
2. Acute pharyngitis and tonsillitis.
3. Pulmonary oedema.
Diagnosis: Acute pneumococcal meningitis
