Abstract
The Education Library at the University of Pretoria is using Web 2.0 tools to engage its clients. The implementation of Web 2.0 tools are also one of the Department’s organisational strategies, and staff are constantly trained and encouraged to use web 2.0 innovatively in their daily work processes. This presentation gives an overview of how the library started implementing some of these tools and how different web 2.0 tools are used to engage its clients. A reflection on the effectiveness or failure of each of these tools are given and lessons learned during the implementation of these tools are highlighted. Tools covered are blogs, wikis, Twitter, Flickr, Slideshare, Facebook, LinkedIn, Academia.edu, Google Earth and RSS Feeds.
