Both cups are white with flared lips, three lion feet and pearls around the base. A decorative ear is attached to the back of the cup. Both cups have saucers with gilded rims. The one cup is decorated with a transfer of the bust of King Willem I of the Netherlands in full uniform. Below the bust is the inscription: “WILLEM I KONING DER NEDERLANDEN”. The other cup has a transfer print of the bust of Wilhelmina, the first wife of Willem I and below the bust is the inscription: “WILHELMINA”. Although the cups have no markings, they are in the typical style of the Nieuwe Amstel factory in Amsterdam, which produced porcelain between 1799 and 1820. These two cups commemorate the day that Willem 6th Prince of Oranje Nassau and his wife, Frederica Louisa Wilhelmina of Prussia became King and Queen of the Netherlands.en_ZA
