Abstract
Description
Clinical history : A 45-year old female patient with history of 13 normal pregnancies.
After the last pregnancy diabetes mellitus was diagnosed and she developed refractory biventricular heart failure.
Treatment was unsuccessful and she developed pre-renal uraemia and jaundice.
Autopsy findings : 1. Dilated cardiomyopathy.
2. Venous thrombosis in pelvic and renal vessels.
3. Pulmonary embolism and infarction.
Diagnosis: Dilated cardiomyopathy (postpartum)
