Abstract
Description
Clinical history : A male child born with anus imperforate was treated with colostomy.
Ten days later a high fever developed and blood tests showed the signs of uraemia and low serum sodium value.
The white cell count was raised to 15,000.
Autopsy findings : 1. Anus imperforate.
2. Congenital urethral valve with dilatation of bladder, bilateral hydro-ureter and hydronephrosis.
3. Acute necrotising pyelonephritis.
4. Monilia pharyngo-oesophagitis.
5. Cephalhematoma.
Diagnosis: 1. Congenital prostate urethra valve.
2. Bilateral hydro-nephrosis and hydro-ureter.
3. Acute pyelonephritis.
4. Cephalhematoma
