dc.descriptionClinical history : A 53 year old male patient well known rugby player had endarterectomy of iliac arteries 4 years previously.
dc.descriptionHe was admitted with atrial fibrillation, heart failure and pulmonary oedema.
dc.descriptionMyocardial infarction was diagnosed with aneurysmal dilatation of left ventricle.
dc.descriptionSevere haemoptysis, cyanosis and loss of consciousness pointed to extension of infarction.
dc.descriptionArtificial respiration was started and the heart failure signs improved but the patient remained unconscious.
dc.descriptionBefore death monoplegia of right arm, Cheyne-Stokes respiration and bradycardia developed.
dc.descriptionAutopsy findings : 1. Triple coronary artery atherosclerosis.
dc.description2. Subendocardial myocardial infarction.
dc.description3. Dilatation of all heart chamber and bilateral atrial thrombosis.
dc.description4. Cerebral embolism and infarction.
dc.description5. Dry gangrene of toes of both feet.
