Description

Clinical history : A 45-year-old man had end stage renal failure due to analgesic nephropathy.
Renal transplantation was done followed six weeks later by rejection crisis.
This was successfully treated with steroid therapy but opportunistic Aspergillus pneumonia proved resistant to antibiotic treatment.
Autopsy findings : 1. Aspergillus pneumonia.
2. Systemic aspergillus lesions in brain and renal transplant.
3. Aspergillus inflammation of the transplanted kidney.
4. Chronic rejection reaction in renal transplant.
Diagnosis: 1. Aspergillus pneumonia.
2. Aspergillus lesion in brain
