Description
Clinical history : A 38-year-old male patient had clinical diagnosis of lung abscess and left-sided hemiplegia.
A history of productive cough and loss of weight over one year period was obtained.
A brain operation was performed but no brain abscess found.
At autopsy a bronchial carcinoma in the left lung as well as bronchiectasis was present.
In the right side of the brain metastatic squamous cell carcinoma revealed the cause of the hemiplegia
Autopsy findings : 1. Squamous cell carcinoma of the bronchial origin in the horizontal fissure of the left lung.
2. Bronchiectasis.
3. metastatic squamous cell carcinoma in the right side of the brain.
Diagnosis: Bronchial squamous cell carcinoma in the main fissure and signs of bronchiectasis in the lower lobe
