Data sanity:the foundations of robust solutions

Abstract

Data is the fundamental building blocks for decision making, design development and monitoring the efficiency and effectiveness of projects. Yet data is often not respected and the meaning that data provides is not understood. Understanding data is critical to ensuring that the correct data is used for each specific purpose. This session aims to demonstrate how data should be considered in the wider perspective of designs and the potential consequences of its misuse. Using Critical Thinking, one begins to understand the wider perspective of the beneficial uses and limitations of data sets.
