Description

Clinical history : A 40 year old female with a fever of 102 and hightened reflex in the arm and legs.
A lumbar puncture had shown a pressure of 300 and multiple pus cells in the sample.
A diagnosis of pyogenic meningitis was made.
Autopsy findings : 1. Cerebral abcess in the corpus striatum on the left with ruptur in the ventricular system and acute leptomeningitis.
2. Atrial septal defcet with right ventricular hypertrophy.
Diagnosis: Atrial septal defect
