Abstract

Description

Clinical history : A six months old male child with marasmus did not respond to treatment.
He developed diarrhoea and his condition slowly deteriorated.
Autopsy findings : 1. Marasmus.
2. Widespread cortical and subcortical brain infarction of unknown cause.
3. Infarction of spleen.
4. Bronchopneumonia.
5. Acute ulcerating colitis.
Diagnosis: Widespread bilateral haemorrhagic cortical infarction
