The primary objective of this research is to elucidate the significant role played by Ivan Stepanovich Prokhanov in shaping the missionary movement in early 20th -century Russia. Prokhanov's reputation as an exceptional organiser is widely acknowledged. Utilising theories of transformational and authentic leadership, alongside an analysis of positive psychological attributes, this study aims to identify and evaluate Prokhanov's leadership qualities within the context of the missionary movement. Furthermore, this dissertation seeks to investigate Reimer's hypothesis, which posits that Prokhanov anticipated many elements of the emerging missionary paradigm as formulated by David Bosch several decades later. Through this examination, the study aims to determine the extent to which Prokhanov's foresight and leadership aligned with the principles outlined in emerging missiological paradigm. The integration of transformational leadership principles with the emerging transformational missionary paradigm is believed to have played a pivotal role in Prokhanov's ability to instigate and advance the missionary movement within Russia. This study sheds light on the intricate interplay between leadership theories and missionary paradigms, offering valuable insights into the historical development of the missionary movement in Russia.en_US
