Between 13,000 and 2,500 BC humans domesticated dogs, cats, cattle, goats, horses, and sheep from their wild counterparts; and this developed a human animal bond. The human animal bond is a mutually beneficial and dynamic relationship between people and animals that is essential to the health and well being of both (Melvin). It is believed that veterinary medicines was practised long before written records could be made (Mark, 2020).en_ZA
