Bespreking van berigte in die "News of the Camp" koerant wat tydens die Eerste Vryheidsoorlog gepubliseer is. Die kampregulasies en 'n beskrywing van die mediese offisier se rondtes word ingesluit. Die skade wat 'n haelstorm van 1874 aan Pretoria se geboue aangerig het word ook beskryf.
