Abstract

This study examines the transition from business interruption insurance to livelihood protection in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. The research explores the origins and global effects of the pandemic, emphasising its profound influence on the insurance industry. Focus areas include the extensions for contagious and infectious diseases, denial of access, and acts of authorities. The study also explores additional general liability, travel, cyber, and director’s and officer’s liability insurance policies. Through a comprehensive analysis, the report accentuates the necessity for adaptive insurance solutions to safeguard businesses and livelihoods against unprecedented disruptions.
