Description

Clinical history : A 27 year old male who was chronically ill with drumstick fingers and nodular and subcutaneius masses in the limbs.
The patient had an increasingly high fever and a biopsy of a skin lesion showed organisms of actinomyces or nocardia groups.
The pateint later developed weak reflex and spasticity.
Autopsy findings : 1. systemic nocardia inflammation with organisms in the skin and pancreas.
2. Abcess formation in the heart, kidney and lung.
3. Chronic leptomeningitis with cerebral infarction.
4. Adenoma of the kidney.
Diagnosis: Multiple nocardial abscess in the kidney and pancreas with presence of organisms.
Cortical adenoma in the kidney
