Description
Clinical history : A female patient 25-years of age in 34th week of pregnancy admitted to hospital with severe cardiac failure.
A stillborn baby of 4½ pounds was spontaneously delivered, but the patient died in spite of treatment.
Autopsy findings : 1. Mitra/ valve stenosis with infective endocarditis.
2. General venous congestion.
3. Renal infarction.
Diagnosis: Chronic rheumatic valvulitis with mitral valve stenosis and infective endocarditis.
