Description
When exactly and why Eloff created this self-portrait is unknown, but it was always presumed that the work was exhibited at the 1912 Individualists Exhibition in the Pretoria City Hall. The shape and size of this small sculpture is comparable to the three know portraits that Eloff created in the same year during his sea voyage from France to South Africa. This bronze is in the collection of the Pretoria Art Museum. Eloff holds his self-portrait in one of the photographs.
