dc.descriptionThis pair of large polychrome Famille noir baluster-shaped Mandarin jars are decorated with lotus heads and scrolls in overglaze enamels and white on a black background. They have a trellis pattern border around the mouth and a lotus pattern around their bases. The bases are sunken, unglazed and marked with Daoguang date mark in black. This type of Mandarin porcelain was made from the latter half of the 18th century onward.en_ZA
