Abstract

Description

Eloff made a copy of his Love’s Anguish for his friend Lilian Segonne since she was a great admirer of this work. While he was still busy creating this work, the Second World War (1939-1945) broke out and Eloff was forced to leave Paris in May 1940 without completing the sculpture. Mme Segonne donated Woman’s Anguish in 1959 to the Pretoria Art Museum.
